Tasha Taiste, CRU "Blue Lightning", 1976-G1,might be new to the Springfield Sirens this season but she already has an old connection with the team. A teammate of Jen Bhalla's for coach Charlie Duccilli at Rutgers University, Tasha will look to contribute (as her old teammate has) to the Sirens defense this season.

Known as a quick, athletic marking back, Taiste will challenge right away for playing time. For the Scarlet Knights, Taiste was a two-year captain in both the 1997 and 1998 seasons. Concerning her on-the-field honors, she was selected to the CSANJ All-State Second Team in 1998 and the Soccer America "Team of the Week" for October 27, 1996. Tasha had an impressive playing and starting record for Rutgers, jogging out to the center of the pitch as a defensive starter in 71 of the 78 games she played in her career. Concerning her off-the-field honors, Taiste was named to the Big East Academic All-Conference Team in 1998.
