CRU Strongly Recomends that All CRU Members Use Mouth Guards 100% Mouth Guard Use by Spring 2006
Charles River United AS would like every player in the soccer club to use mouth guards to help prevent concussions and lessen injury to the teeth, mouth and jaw.
By the start of the 2006 spring season coaches will be instructed that no member of the club can play without mouth guard protection.
It is the hope that by that time every member of the club will be able to get a mouth guard fitted specifically for them by a dental professional.
In the interim it is strongly recommended that everyone begin using some form of protection.Inexpensive versions that offer a modicum of protection from mouth injury or concussion should begin to be used right way.
It is each CRU coach’s responsibility to distribute this message to all members of his or her team and to help the club encourage 100% participation right away.
You will find in this note several web articles that promote the use of mouth guards and describe the types of mouth protection available.
