Laurie Lamoureux Will Lead Her Merrimack Warriors to Their Fourth Straight NCAA Tournament
Former CRU Sparks Footballer is On The Top of Her Game

Laurie Lamoureux (CRU Sparks, 1982-G1, 1997 - 2002) has taken her Warriors team to four straight Northeast-10 Conference Tournaments. Three of the trips got them to the tournament Finals.

Along the way she has earned a Northeast-10 1st Team Award, two NEWISA All- American awards and a Third Team NSCAA All-America award in 2003. She leads the Warriors with 27 points (eight goals, 11 assists) this season, ranking her eighth in the NE-10. Laurie has played in 85 matches for Merrimack and started them all.  She’s scored an incredible 45 goals and shared a lot with 36 assist for 126 total points.  During that time 16 of those goals won the match for Merrimack.

Merrimack currently ranked 15th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA)/Adidas Division II women’s soccer poll, earned its fourth straight appearance into the NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championships. The Warriors will be making their sixth appearance overall in the NCAA National Tournament.

Merrimack (15-4-1) will take on No. 21- ranked Assumption (14-5) in a First Round match on Friday, November 12 at 5:00pm on the campus of Franklin Pierce. The top-seeded Ravens (18-1), currently ranked fourth in the most recent NSCAA poll, will face fourth-seeded Saint Rose (13-4-2) in the other First Round contest on Friday. The winners of the First Round matches will face one another on Sunday, November 14 at 1:00pm for the New England Regional Championships.

The Warriors, who have not played since Sunday, October 28, have posted a 1-1-1 record against the other participants in the New England Regional. Merrimack upset then top-ranked Franklin Pierce on their home field, 2-1 on September 30. The Warriors opened Northeast-10 Conference action with a tie against Saint Rose, 2-2 and fell to Assumption on October 5, 2-0, the latter two matches were played at Merrimack’s home field, Warrior Field.
