Medway 4, Westwood 0
Medway shut out host Westwood
yesterday, grabbing a Tri-Valley League win and qualifying for the state
tournament.
The Warriors (8-2-2, 8-2-2 TVL) divided their scoring between
the halves. In the first, Kate Scott knocked in a Cassandra Vouriotis helper,
and Kaitlyn Steele assisted to Arianna Burke. In the second, Vouriotis tallied
a goal of her own, the assist going to Michelle Epstein. Scott topped off the
scoring with her second goal off a Jamie Parece assist. Medway hosts Ashland
tomorrow (6:30 p.m.).
Franklin 1, North Attleboro 0
Franklin and visiting North
Attleboro battled through 60 scoreless minutes before Stephanie Soma broke
through for the Panthers, scoring the game's lone goal for a Hockomock League
triumph. Soma's goal came from an assist from Kate Fox midway through the
second half. Both keepers had their hands full throughout the match, with Emily
Swan posting ten saves for Frankiln (6-4-3, 6-3-3 Hockomock) and Courtney
McDonnell making 12 for North Attleboro. Franklin hosts Mansfield tomorrow
(6:15 p.m.).
