CRU Cheetah and Panther Girls Shine in Post-Season High School Soccer

The sophomores and juniors in the pool of under 16 players who are rostered on CRU Cheetah and CRU Panther played well at their respective high schools.  Some led their junior varsity teams while most performed significant roles for their varsity teams.

Sixteen of the girls also gained valuable experience playing in the MIAA post-season tournaments.

In the Division I North tournament, Jackie Pounder and her Lexington teammates lost a close 2-1 match to Framingham in the First Round. Needham ’s 3-2 First Round loss to Whitman-Hanson featured two goals by Christine Salans.

Ashleigh Chretien’s North Attleborough team and Becca Lueth’s Franklin squad each lost very close matches in the first round of the Division I South Tournament.  Ashleigh’s team were beaten in penalty kicks and Becca’s team lost to Marshfield  1-0.

Jillian Miller’s Medway team made it to the finals in the Division II South tournament.

Six of the girls participated in the Division III South Tournament.  Forward Victoria Howe and Ursuline Academy made it to the quarter-finals of the tournament.  Keeper Emily Trebat led Ashland with teammates Nina Juitt and Meredith Daly into the tournament First Round against Dover-Sherborn.  Unfortunately, Emily and Nina were injured in the match.

McCleary Philbin and Diana Poulsen were able to continue play as Dover-Sherborn went as far as the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Jackie Vissat’s Marlborough varsity squad and Ashleigh Kaufman’s Milford team made it into the Division I Central Tournament.  Milford lost in the first round but Marlborough made it to the semi-finals.

Cat Falcone’s Sutton girls are finalists in the Division III central tournament.

Two of the girls played volleyball instead of soccer and led their squad into the Division II Central sectional Finals.  Sophomores Jessica McLeod and Ally Le-Bruno each play for powerhouse Medfield.
